Several years ago, I compiled a Credit Professional’s playlist for this newsletter, and I thought it was high time for another installment, especially considering this year’s Credit Congress was held in Cleveland, OH, home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Click HERE for Part 1
I’ve gathered songs for some additional credit scenarios that weren’t mentioned in the previous article and listed them here. Hopefully reviewing this playlist will provide some inspiration, or at least a few minutes of fun. Because sometimes the right tune can be just the thing to help you tackle life’s challenges.
Songs to inspire improved working relationships with the sales team:
“Lean on Me” – Bill Withers
Lean on me when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on
“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” – Starship
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing’s gonna stop us now
Songs for customers who want more credit:
“Have a Little Faith in Me” – John Hiatt
You see time, time is our friend
‘Cause for us there is no end
All you gotta do is have a little faith in me
“Take a Chance on Me” – ABBA
Take a chance on me
Gonna do my very best and it ain’t no lie
If you put me to the test, if you let me try
Songs for when you give them another chance:
“Don’t Let Me Down” – The Beatles
Don’t let me down
Please
Don’t let me down
“Mamma Mia” – ABBA
I’ve been angry and sad about things that you do
I can’t count all the times that I’ve told you we’re through
And when you go, when you slam the door
I think you know that you won’t be away too long
You know that I’m not that strong
Songs for when you have to be tough:
“I Won’t Back Down” – Tom Petty
No I’ll stand my ground
Won’t be turned around
And I’ll keep this world from draggin’ me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won’t back down
“Hit Me With Your Best Shot” – Pat Benatar
Well you’re the real tough cookie with a long history
Of breaking little hearts like the one in me
That’s okay, let’s see how you do it
Put up your dukes, let’s get down to it
Hit me with your best shot
Why don’t you hit me with your best shot
Hit me with your best shot
Fire away
Songs for when a customer ghosts you:
“Say Something” – A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera
Say something, I’m giving up on you
I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you
“Again” – Trampled by Turtles
Will I see you
Will I see you
Will I see you
Again
Songs that embody the support we find through NACM:
“I’ll Be There for You” – The Rembrandts
No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you’re the only one who knows
What it’s like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I’ll always laugh with
Even at my worst, I’m best with you
“Count on Me” – Bruno Mars
You can count on me like one, two, three, I’ll be there
And I know when I need it
I can count on you like four, three, two and you’ll be there
‘Cause that’s what friends are supposed to do
“Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
Ain’t no mountain high, ain’t no valley low
Ain’t no river wide enough, baby
If you need me, call me, no matter where you are
No matter how far, don’t worry, baby
Just call my name, I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry
Songs for earning your NACM designations:
“The Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades” – Timbuk 3
Things are goin’ great
And they’re only getting’ better
I’m doin’ all right
Gettin’ good grades
The future’s so bright
I gotta wear shades
“Break My Stride” – Matthew Wilder
Ain’t nothin’ gonna break my stride
Nobody gonna slow me down
Oh no, I got to keep on moving
And finally, songs for when you need a break:
“Happy Little Things” – Holly Kluge
Don’t forget the little things in life that make you happy, yeah-yeah
Don’t forget the little things in life that make you smile
Oh, cast your cares aside and think about the things that make you smile
“Take It Easy” – Eagles
Take it easy, take it easy
Don’t let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don’t even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
Take it easy
“Happy” – Pharrell Williams
Here comes bad news, talking this and that
Well, give me all you got, don’t hold it back
Well, I should probably warn ya, I’ll be just fine
No offense to you, don’t waste your time, here’s why
Because I’m happy
All these songs, plus those from my first credit professional’s playlist, are included on this Spotify playlist: HERE Enjoy!
