If you had told me years ago that I’d one day become a credit manager—and love it—I probably would’ve laughed. Not because I didn’t think I could do it, but because it simply wasn’t on my radar. I came into the credit world as a late bloomer, and what a beautiful bloom it’s turned out to be.
Let me back up a bit. I’m just a mom—though being “just” a mom feels like an understatement. I’ve been blessed with four incredible children, who in turn gave me 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren (with two more on the way!) My heart is full, and my hands are never empty.
When I’m not immersed in all things credit, you’ll probably find me doing one of three things: feeding the people I love, fussing over chickens (yes, I’m officially a chicken lady now), or disappearing into nature. Whether it’s camping in the mountains or playing in my flower and veggie gardens for hours, the outdoors is where I recharge. And if there’s ever a chance to go to the beach—you can count me in. I’m also a proud foodie. Cooking for family and friends brings me joy, and sharing a good meal is one of my favorite ways to show love.
My journey into credit began when a friend encouraged me to apply at Mountainland. I wasn’t happy in my previous job, so I thought, “Why not?” I had zero experience in credit and no idea what a credit manager even did. I was just looking for a job—never expecting to find the job. The first few weeks were overwhelming; I went home and cried, convinced I was in over my head. But I stuck with it. Ten years later, I’m still here, and I absolutely love what I do.
Being a credit manager has become one of the most unexpectedly fulfilling chapters of my life. I’ve discovered a passion for relationship-building and yes—even collecting money! The connections I’ve made, especially through NACM, have been the highlight of this journey. These aren’t just professional contacts—they’re my people.
Life is amazing. Sometimes it takes a few twists and turns, a few late starts, and a leap of faith to end up right where you belong. I’m living proof that it’s never too late to discover what lights you up.
So here I am: credit manager, mom, grandma, chicken wrangler, camper, gardener, and food lover—grateful every day for the path that led me here and the people I’ve met along the way.
