Shane Inglesby CCE – Retires

by April Tanner CCE, Kimball Equipment Co.

“And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make!” The Beatles Abbey Road

I have known Shane for decades and am sad to see such a fantastic person and great credit manager retire – but happy for him to enjoy some additional ski time and time with his family especially the grandkids. Shane was brave enough to allow me to write about him for this retirement article and I appreciate that trust.

Shane has already given his swan song at our ICEL meeting in January 2026 as Corporate Credit Manager for Geneva Rock. This was a repeat performance from the same highly rated program he taught at Credit Congress 2025. A copy of that presentation is linked here: LINK

Some background information on Shane:

He is a graduate of the University of Utah (GO UTES!)

You can see his work history in the slide deck – but he did mention to me more than once that one of his greatest blessings was going to work for Geneva Rock/Clyde Companies – the company where he completed his career in credit management.

Shane and his wife, Carol, have two daughters, and they have two grandchildren that mean the absolute world to them. Carol is also retiring this month! They plan to spend time traveling (Florida in a few weeks to celebrate) and will have tons of time at the water park with the grandkids this summer. Shane also shared with me that he and Carol will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in 2026 and have a wonderful trip planned to a sunny beach.

Outside of credit Shane loves to ski and is planning on maxing out his IKON ski pass this year. He also loves music, if you are friends on his Facebook there are some reviews of his favorite bands and albums.

Shane also has a fantastic collection of comic strips related to credit and credit management – those are treasures that should not be lost! Shane – please make sure someone in our NACM group gets a copy of those funny credit nuggets!

Now for more about Shane the credit professional. In his more than 30 years as a credit professional he has been an extraordinary advocate of NACM nationally, locally, and for the Intermountain Credit Education League (ICEL.) He is leaving his footprints in all areas of our organization. Shane had been around long enough to have taken the CCE exam when it was still a 4+ hour handwritten test!

Shane was named our Credit Executive of the Year in 2009. He was named Mentor of the Year in 2010. He has been part of industry trade groups for more years than we can count. His knowledge has been passed on in many articles published in our newsletter. He has been part of many ICEL education sessions. Attended dozens of National Credit Congress’.

Shane has served on every committee for both NACM and ICEL. He has also been a leader for both – serving twice as ICEL Chair and twice as Chairman of the Board for the NACM Intermountain|AZ. Shane has also recently served on the NACM National Board. What would we have done without you as part of our profession?

I want Shane and all to know I appreciate him and all he has done for NACM and ICEL. We have all gained from his knowledge and his willingness to pass on what he knows as a mentor. We have greatly benefited from the donation of his time to the many committees and boards he has been a part of over the past three decades. I hope Shane feels he has received as much from all of us as we have from him!

Wishing you the best in your new beginning my friend!
