For the past year and a half, I have continued to expand my knowledge in business credit, National Association of Credit Management (NACM), and online training courses. When I first started working at my current company, I had no previous experience in accounting or credit. My company gave me the opportunity to gain experience and grow by encouraging me to take classes through NACM and SLCC, which helped me develop a strong understanding of the business credit industry and professional accounting practices.
Through my coursework and training, I have learned about customer account management, credit policies, payment processing, collections, business communication, and the legal responsibilities involved in credit and financial transactions. My education has also taught me the importance of accuracy, organization, proper documentation, and maintaining professional relationships with customers while following company policies and legal guidelines.
The classes through NACM and SLCC have helped me better understand business law and credit law, including how businesses protect themselves financially while also treating customers fairly and professionally. I have gained knowledge in handling write-offs, refunds, credit memos, payment applications, account balancing, and preparing statements and invoices correctly. Online training courses have also helped strengthen my understanding of accounting systems and day-to-day credit procedures.
As I have continued learning, I have been able to apply my education in the workplace while I also help train coworkers on office procedures and accounting tasks. I have assisted others with teaching them to enter payments, review customer accounts, process refunds, and properly prepare customer statements and invoices.
Continuing my education in business credit and credit law has helped me become more confident and knowledgeable in my role. It has strengthened my understanding of professional business practices; it has motivated me to continue learning and growing within the business credit field throughout my career.
