I’ve been a Colin Powell fan since Desert Storm. With his recent passing, I reviewed his “13 Rules” and realized how well they apply to business credit management.
It ain’t as bad as you think. It will look better in the morning.
Working in credit is stressful! We don’t have the luxury of sleeping on it, but we can walk away, even for a few minutes. When we separate ourselves from emotions, we make better credit decisions.
Get mad, then get over it.
We don’t have control over most things on the job. When we feel angry we should acknowledge it. Then let go of it and move on.
